Grunge/Text

This picture was taken 9/26/09 I added their names along with other text relating to family. I chose different sizes, opacity, and color to fill in the surrounding area.

I added texture to this image in Photoshop and used the Overlay blending method. The image was taken in an old abandoned State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, PA.

  1. I love your family photo. You capture such great expressions on all three subjects, which is a trick. The text also turned out so cool! Your state pen shot is awesome and has some great lines. Just be sure to list the photo info labels so we know your settings and location, etc. You really have a creative eye for this. Keep the great shots coming.

  2. Wow you have a great talent in photography. Your images look wonderful. I too love the family photo! The added text gives it a nice feel and I love what you did with the coloring. For the other shot I love how there are so many lines that draw you to the center. Its very interesting! Great job!

  3. I really liked your grunge text and your arches. The lighting and angle were really awesome to begin with on the arches and then adding the textured overlay was a really good touch. Seeing your grunge text on your family shot gave me a couple of ideas of my own that I'd like to try out - it was very cool!

  4. I love the first one of the family. It is the perfect font and All of the colors look so good. I am in love with the abandoned state penitentiary. It is perfect I think. I love the colors of it and all the lines and light in it. Good job!

  5. These look great! The fonts you used in the the first one work really well together. And the state pen shot is really quite impressive. As far as adding texture to that one, there didn't seem to be a huge difference between your first and your second. Your texture shot definitely gives a nice frame and vignette effect, but I think it'd also be cool to see a more distinct texture overlayed with that shot.
